Cost of remedial work on faulty soak aways in Cherry Garden revised

The Nevis Island Administration (NIA) is conducting remedial work on faulty soak aways at a number of homes in the Cherry Gardens Housing Development, on Nevis.

In April of this year, Deputy Premier of Nevis and Minister of Housing, Alexis Jeffers, said the residences with soak away issues are located in the first set of houses constructed between 2008 and 2013.

Due to financial constraints at the NHLDC, the Ministry of Public Works will undertake replacing the remaining defective soak aways.

Minister Jeffers pointed out that the project will cost the government over $217,000. But according to Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, that has been revised.
