Customs and Excise Department embarks on “paperless environment” project

The St. Kitts-Nevis Customs and Excise Department has engaged on a project, which will see them trying to reduce the amount of paper in the environment.

They are aiming to achieve this by embracing the use of online tools as part of a broader strategy to promote sustainability.

This comes as the Customs and Excise Department here in the Federation joined its counter parts across the world on Sunday 26th January to observe International Customs Day.

The day was celebrated under the theme “Customs Fostering Sustainability for People, Prosperity and the Planet”

Speaking on the Wednesday 29th January edition of “Working for You” Courier Operations Manager, Jervin Nisbett explained this goal the department is trying to achieve.

He further explained that it goes hand in hand with the department keeping up with today’s evolving the technology which allows individuals to a number of customs related information online.
