Minister of Health for St. Kitts & Nevis, the Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett.

This comes in the wake of the Federation’s 17th confirmed case of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).

As the nation continues to fight against the Coronavirus, over the past few months, the Government has put in place Statutory Rules & Orders (SRO’s) to help govern the nation’s citizens during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A State of Emergency (SOE) was also announced for the country on Saturday, March 28th, 2020 by Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.

A State of Emergency is a situation in which a government is empowered to perform actions or impose policies that it would normally not be permitted to undertake. A government can declare such a state, during a natural disaster, civil unrest, armed conflict, medical pandemic or epidemic or other biosecurity risk.
