Five year old Chalese Morton, set the stage for a grand Silver Jubilee Service of Thanksgiving held Friday evening in honour of her uncle and Commercial Airline Pilot, Captain Barnabas Esdaille.

The surprise event, held at the Charlestown Wesleyan Holiness Church, attracted a large gathering of family, friends and associates of the Esdaille’s immediate and extended families; as well as government ministers, top civil servants and business executives.

Captain Esdaille’s celebration was dubbed “Flying High for 25 Years”; but that impressive accomplishment really began as a childhood dream.

Mr Arthur Evelyn, was Captain Esdaille’s first employer. He was among several persons contributing ‘touch down’ presentations.

Other presenters included the Honourable Michael Perkins, deputising for Premier Vance Amory; former Classmate, Mr Dolvin Nisbett; and Nevis’ Airport Manager, Mr Carlisle Powell.

Captain Cosmos Phillips spoke on behalf of his colleagues at LIAT, the airline for which Captain Esdaille has worked throughout his career, since November 20th, 1978.

The Silver Jubillee honoree also received a bouquet from the Prime Minister’s Office and a copy of the recently published Nevis’ Golden Book from the Nevis Island Administration.

In his response, Esdaille, expressed gratitude to family and community support he’s received.
