|Decomposing body discovered eight months ago identified as Newton resident

Speculations of the identity of a decomposing body that was discovered in the Fahie’s Mountain area on St. Kitts has been laid to rest.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force released the identity of the body during the Prime Minister’s monthly press conference held on Thursday 9th March 2017.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy in responding to a question at the press conference confirmed that the remains found were those of Lincoln “Markie” Liburd of Newton.
Liburd’s lifeless body was discovered on July 29th 2016 after he was reported missing earlier in that week.
Deputy Commissioner Brandy noted that the body was positively identified by both fingerprints and close friends.
He also added that Liburd’s body was speedily buried by the Social Services Department and stated that this was due to the advanced state of decomposition.
