PS in the Ministry of Tourism in the NIA dies, Nevis Mourns his Death

In the wake of the death of Former Governor General Sir Cuthbert Sebastian, the island of Nevis plunged into mourning on Sunday evening (March 26th), when the death of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Information Mr. Carl Winston Williams, was announced.

 

According to sources, Mr. Williams was a friend to all and had served Nevis and the Federation (on a whole) in various capacities over the duration of his career.

 

Before reaching the upper levels of the civil service, Mr. Williams had a long career in teaching. He started his teaching career in St. Kitts at the Newtown Primary School, which is now called the Tucker Clarke Primary School. 

 

In Nevis, He taught at the Ivor Walters Primary School. He also served as Principal at two primary schools, namely St. James’ Primary and the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School and also Assistant Principal at the Gingerland Secondary School. 

 

Mr. Williams moved to the Ministry of Tourism, around 10 years ago, and was Assistant Permanent Secretary, before being promoted to Permanent Secretary in the Nevis Island Administration. He was the husband of the Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams.
