|Crime reduction strategy to go to Cabinet shortly
April 06, 2017
According to Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Osmond Petty, the draft crime reduction strategy stemming from a symposium held about two months ago is expected to be presented to the Federal Cabinet shortly.
Mr. Petty explained that following the hosting of the symposium, each participating stakeholder group gave their proposal for addressing the different origins of crime.
As a result, he compiled and summarized the information into a report, which he hopes to present to Cabinet, in due time.
The more than 100 stakeholders, who were involved in the process of devising a crime-reduction strategy, came from various groups across the Federation.
PS Petty explained that these groups would be responsible for putting in place the various legs of the combined strategy.
When asked for a time by which the draft is to be given to the Cabinet, PS Petty said that as soon as he has completed putting the final touches on the document, it would be forwarded.
