Body of missing 17-year-old Leanna Napoleon found in St. Kitts
June 15, 2017

Police have confirmed that the body which was found in a shallow grave in the Olivee’s mountain area, on St. Kitts, is that of missing teenager Leanna Napoleon.

Additional information revealed that the 17-year-old, who was discovered during the night hours of Wednesday June 14th, was still clothed in her BHS school uniform.

The body was wrapped and partly decomposed, leading investigators to believe that she was held captive during the past 37-38 days while missing. However, a post mortem is to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Reports reaching the VONNEWSLINE have also indicated that the brother of Leanna was picked up by police, in the wake of the discovery. He had been held for questioning multiple times and released.

Following the discovery, Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian Queeley said, "this is not the outcome we were hoping for.”

Leanna Napoleon was last seen on Fort Street (Basseterre), on May 8th 2017 and was reported missing for the past five (5) weeks and three (3) days.
