National of St. Kitts & Nevis to receive Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty the Queen

A national of St. Kitts and Nevis will receive the Queen’s Young Leaders Award from Her Majesty, the Queen, at a ceremony in Buckingham Palace, London on Thursday June 29th.


The Award celebrates inspiring young people from all over the Commonwealth, who are dedicated to driving change in their communities and beyond.


26-year-old Dion Browne was selected as this year’s award winner and has been recognized by

 

The Queen for his commitment to bringing out the best in young people, by working to address anti-social behavior in the community.



He will be representing St. Kitts and Nevis as he joins winners from across the Commonwealth in the UK, for a programme designed to help them to develop as leaders, to transform people’s lives.



The 2017 Queen’s Young Leaders Award winners are working to support others, raise awareness and inspire change on a variety of issues from tackling bullying in schools, to preserving the environment, to promoting gender equality.


Before receiving their Queen’s Young Leaders Award at Buckingham Palace, the winners will visit 10 Downing Street, as well as take part in masterclasses at the BBC World Service and the UK headquarters of global social media company Facebook.
