Police seize 25th illegal firearm for the year, turns up heat with increased patrols

In police news-

A Citizen Safety patrol carried out by officers of the K-9 team, within the Police Force, resulted in the seizure of an illegal firearm and matching ammunition.

 

While patrolling and conducting searches, the K-9 team uncovered and seized one (1) Kel-Tech P-32 pistol, with three (3) rounds of ammunition on Tuesday evening (June 27th), in Ottley's Village (St. Kitts).

 

This seizure brings the total number of illegal firearms seized, to twenty-five (25) so far this year.


The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continue in its appeal to residents and citizens to share any information they may have, regarding crime, calling any Police Station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477.


Meantime, officers conducted increased Citizen Safety Operations in communities between Cayon and Mansions (St. Kitts), on Tuesday (Jun 27th).


Officers from the Special Services Unit (SSU), the Anti-Drug Unit and a K-9 team conducted a daylong operation that included the execution of some ten (10) Search Warrants and a number of stop and searches.

 

ACP Terrance James, Head of the Operations Directorate indicated that "these Operations will continue. We have the resolve."
