In its efforts to effectively reduce crime, the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis, through the Ministry of National Security is broadening its outreach to include schools, churches and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

While making his presentation to the National Assembly on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. The National Security Minister reported that the different law enforcement agencies have increased in their recruitment efforts. Moreover, during the course of 2017, near one hundred (100) new persons will be added to the security services.

Dr. Harris stated that emphasis will be placed on building a stronger relationship between young people and law enforcement, as the Ministry of Agriculture has identified seventy (70) acres of land for strategic support for at-risk youths and ex-convicts of Her Majesty’s Prison and ex-gang members.
