PRIME MINISTER DOUGLAS CONGRATULATES NEW DOMINICA PRIME MINISTER

“Please accept my warmest personal congratulations and those of my Government on the occasion of your Party’s decisive victory at the Polls last Thursday”.

That was the message from St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister to the new elected Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Hon. Roosevelt Skerritt.

Dr. Douglas told Prime Minister Skerritt, Political Leader of the Dominica Labour Party, that the mandate he had received “testifies of the trust..........

........And high confidence in which he is held by the Dominica people and also the confidence reposed in his programmes and in his leadership

Mr. Skerritt, was sworn in for a new five-year term on Monday, after his party won 12 of the 21 electoral seats in the May 5th general elections.

Skerritt took over the office of Prime Minister following the death of Pierre Charles who succeeded Rosie Douglas who also died while in office.
