The Ivor Walters Primary School has copped the 25th annual Nevis Cooperative Credit Union SJCIC Inter-Primary School Quiz.

By virtue of a tie breaker The Ivor Walters Primary School won over the Violet O Jeffers Nicholls Primary School team of Movella Liburd and Keshelle Clarke.

Initially, the Ivor Walters Primary School was represented by Al Flemming and Duryan(D-O-RYAN) Cozier. Cozier had however taken ill and was replaced in the final round of the third segment by standby Diandre Ottley who completed the competition with Al.

Placing third place was last years defending champions Charlestown Primary School with the team of Trish Taylor and Alkin Huggins.

Movella Liburd of the VONJ Primary School was adjudged best student with a total of 30pts followed by Al Fleming of Ivor Waters with 25 points.

Notable performances were also obtained by Keshelle Clarke of the VOJN Primary and Trish Taylor of Charlestown Primary.

All primary schools on the island with the exception of the Belle Vue International Primary School were represented at the quiz which took place at the Nelson Mandela Community Centre at the flats in Cole Hill.

The students were tested in the areas of Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Mathematics.

The Ivor Walters Primary School; Prospect Primary at it was then called were the first winners at the inaugural quiz when it was first held in 1980.

At that time the competition was held between and the St. John’s Primary School and Ivor Walters Primary.

Monday evening’s quiz was part of anniversary celebrations of the St. John Community Improvement Club. The club was established on November 28th 1977.
