THE ST. KITTS TOURISM AUTHORITY TO EMBARK ON AWARENSS DRIVE FOR US CITIZENS TO OBTAIN PASSPORTS
January 17, 2006

As at December 2006 citizens of the United States of America will be required to carry passports when re-entering the United States.

A number of countries have embarked on an awareness campaign to sensitize visitors to their countries of the new regulation.

This is part of the new security arrangement implemented by the US State Department following the Sept 11 2001 attack on New York and Washington.

Here in the Federation the Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority Ms. Christine Walwyn told us that the authority will be launching an awareness drive shortly.

She also stated that they have noticed most of the tourists who visit the island already have passports which is a plus.
