Uncertainty Continues to Sorround the CSME Issue
January 18, 2006

There is still seems to be a sense of uncertainty where the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) is concerned.

It has been banded around that not enough information is being made readily available for persons wishing to know more about the CARICOM Initiative.

This was the view expressed by callers to the Tuesday evening’s edition of the Let’s Talk programme.

The CSME came into effect on January 1st 2006. So far six countries have signed on to the initiative.

The OECS sub-grouping which includes St. Kitts and Nevis are expected to sign on by February 1st .

The inauguration ceremony was originally slated for January 23rd but has since been pushed back to January.
