The man power of the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) has been increased.

Fifteen (15) men and women were officially inducted into the SKNDF yesterday afternoon after graduating from the training academy. They now hold the position as privates.

The individuals spent 12 weeks learning the rigours of law enforcement at the SKNDF Headquarters at Camp Springfield.

The training sessions dealt with a number of basic military subjects such as basic map and compass work such as land navigation, field craft, general military duties, military tactics for guerrilla warfare training and others, fighting in built up and open areas and also work to assist the police with their duties.

The feature address was delivered by Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable Sam Condor, while the Governor-General Sir Cuthbert Sebastian inspected and took the march past of the recruits.

The ceremony, which marks the eighth since the re-establishment of the SKNDF, was held at the defence force headquarters at Camp Springfield.
