The capacity for the government and private sector officials to effectively manage the trade negotiations process as well as to formulate trade policy has been given a boost.

This following the launch of a Caribbean Trade Reference Centre (CTRC) on Thursday.

The centre dubbed an “Invaluable Trade Resource” will be accessible at the Charles A. Halbert Library on St. Kitts and Charlestown Public Library.

It is expected to assist in filling information gaps which exist at the national level and enable its users to better understand complex trade issues.

The Organization of American States (OAS) through its department for Trade, Tourism and Competitiveness s the executing agency.

The Canadian International Development Agency is the funding agency for the OAS/CIDA capacity building initiative for the Caribbean.
