Kevin West of Montserrat captured the top prize in the ECCB’s Photography Conmpetition and Exhibition entitled “The People of the OECS” with his submission entitled Labodie & Kelly. This winning photograph features an elderly couple, sitting side by side on a bus.

Second place went to Scott Gilbert of St. Kitts and Nevis for his photo entitled “Generations” and third place went to Leroy Willett also of St. Kitts and Nevis with a photo entitled “Conch Water Boy”. Susan Croft of Anguilla captured the award for Best Colour with her submission entitled “Zoe and Toots” while the award for Best Black and White went to Albert Joseph of St. Lucia for a photo entitled “Satisfied Lady”. Best in Country Awards were also given out in each of the eight ECCU member countries.

The photos, which were submitted as entries into the photographic competition, are vibrant in color, dramatic in their expressions of everyday life and innovative in their simplicity. These and other highly commended entries as well as other exhibits are displayed at the recently opened OECS/ECCU Exhibition Centre based in Basseterre, St. Kitts.

The Exhibition Centre is an educational initiative created by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank in an effort to promote a greater understanding of and appreciation for the countries of the OECS.
