“Certain proposals made by the Ministry during the St. Kitts and Nevis Budget Estimates process in preparation for the 2021 Budget are being circulated in the Public domain via social media channels”, according to Permanent Secretary (PS) in the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Osmond Petty in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The discussion document was presented to the Federal Cabinet in keeping with the Budgetary process for the 2021 Federal Budget.

However, photos on social media revealed that as it relates to Firearms License renewal, an individual was charged $1,000.00 EC instead of the usual $350.00 EC.

In closing, he added that “it is quite unfortunate, irresponsible and malicious for a discussion document that was presented to Cabinet as part of the Budgetary process, to be leaked to social media”.
