St. Kitts and Nevis supports Dominica during Political Unrest

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, has indicated that the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is providing assistance to Dominica during this time of unrest.

 

Elections are due in the country on Friday, 6th December, 2019 and the political unrest due to unfair political practices according to reports coming out of the country has caused dismay among residents.

 

Prime Minister Harris speaking at his Monthly Press Conference outlined St. Kitts and Nevis’ stance on the situation in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

 

 

The Honourable Prime Minister further extended best wishes to the island as its elections are at hand.

On Tuesday, 3rd December 2019, a High Court in the Nature Isle denied an injunction by the Concerned Citizen Movement to have elections in the country postponed until after Wednesday, February 5th, 2020.

 

Reporting of the case out of Dominica indicate that the matter is expected to be appealed with the Supreme Court.
