Training underway for persons to be better equipped in administration of justice through mediation

A 40-hour Mediation Training is underway in St. Kitts and will see 26 persons from the Federation trained to mediate in conflict resolution. 

 

The training runs from May 17th – 21st of this week and May 25th and 26th of the following week.

Mediation is a private process where a neutral third person called a Mediator helps the parties or persons discuss and tries to resolve a dispute.

 

According to High Court Registrar, Janine Harris-Lake, 25 persons were trained in Mediation in 2019.

 

An opening ceremony for the training was held on Monday, May 17th and Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, Vincent Byron Jr. assured those present of the government’s support of the program:
