To spread holiday cheer and “to foster community support, participation or spirit and healthy competition”, the Department of Community Development-Nevis conducted a Christmas Passport Competition.

The sixty (60) participants were asked to visit as many Christmas Tree Lightings and stamp their provided passport to win prizes.  As many as sixteen (16) persons, tied for attending all the Community Christmas Tree Lightings that were scheduled and not cancelled, a total of 20.

Of the 16 persons, 11 were chosen at random to receive the prizes. The winners were: Latiecia Richards, Cliffhall Morgan, Sandrine Ceasar, Keithley David, Tameicia Lestrade, Lakeisha Rodgers, Tera Griffin, Aaliyah Fahie, Shoya Lawrence, Mikelsia Scarborough, finally, Devanique Richards.

Individuals won prizes that included meals and food vouchers from the restaurants: On the Dunes at the Four Seasons Resort, Sunshine Beach Bar and Grill, Yachtman’s Grill, Chill’s Beach Bar, Indian Summer and Barefoot.

Others earned a complimentary booking reservation of any community centre on Nevis, a gas voucher from Carl’s Gas Station, and gift packages that contained various items such as small kitchen appliances, pans, beach ware and products from Native Radiance.
