Sixteen nationals were recognised for their outstanding contributions to the development of St. Kitts and Nevis during the Independence Ceremonial Parade marking the Federation’s 43^rd Anniversary of Independence on September 19^th, at Warner Park, St. Kitts.

Ten individuals received the Companion of Star of Merit (CSM), this national honour recognizes distinguished service and significant contributions to national development.

The recipients were Elston Tuckett for Sports and Religion, Violet Petty for Public and Civic Service, Muriel Powell for Education and Academia, Victor Eddy and Leonard “Lenny” Lake for Sports, Sandra Davoren for Security and Defence, Mary Ann Wigley for Public and Civic Service, James “Mologo” Kelly for Sports, Eugenie Condor for Health and Community Service, and Rev. Dr. Benjamin Browne for Religion and Spiritual Leadership.

Six others received the Medal of Honour (MH) for exceptional service. They were Cecilia Phipps Heyliger for Community Service, Sonia Merritt-Moore for Diaspora Service and Entrepreneurship, Alistene Clarke-Sutton – Public and Civic Service, Emileta Warner-Paul – Education and Academia, Donaly Liburd-Chiverton for Law and Justice, and the late Dr. Stewart O. Williams, Ph.D. for Public and Civic Service, recognised posthumously, which means after his passing.

The honours highlighted the breadth of service contributed to the Federation’s development.
