2023 Budget Debate continues in the Nevis Island Assembly Chambers on Thursday

The 2023 Budget Debate began on Tuesday Feb. 21st, at the Nevis Island Assembly’s Chambers, in Charlestown.

 

 

 

It began with Opposition Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge, responding to the presentation of the over $261 million dollar Budget, by Premier of Nevis and Minister of Finance, Dr. Hon. Mark Brantley.

 

 

 

The Budget was held under the theme “Charting the pathway to socio-economic transformation: investing to accelerate growth”.

 

 

 

In her rebuttal, Dr. Daniel-Hodge said more “investment opportunities” should have been brought to the fore, inter alia. On the Government’s side, Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture et.al, the Hon. Eric Evelyn, supported the Budget. Also supporting the Budget in her maiden presentation in Parliament, Minister of Health, the Hon. Jahnel Nisbett and Minister of Education, the Hon. Troy Liburd.
