22,000 beneficiaries, $30million paid during Budget Boost Wallet Initiative
That was Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Hon. Terrance Drew.
The Budget Boost Wallet (BBW) was an initiative announced during the presentation of the 2025 national budget in December. The BBW provided a $250 monthly allowance to nationals residing in St. Kitts and Nevis, who had contributed to Social Security since at least January 2024 and made a monthly salary of $5000 or less.
The payments ran from January 2025 to June 2025. The Prime Minister stated the policy along with others announced in December had eased financial pressures and boosted household stability for the first half of 2025.
Another such initiative was the reduction in VAT for the same time period from 17% to 13%. According to Dr. Drew, a total of $10 million savings was received by the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.
