280 Four Seasons Resort employees have been terminated, approximately two (2) weeks before the re-opening of the hotel slated for November 1st 2020.
According to a letter issued to employees on Thursday, October 15th, it stated (and I quote) “conforming to section 7 of the protection of the employment act of the laws of St. Kitts and Nevis and according to your years of service with the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, you will receive a notice of termination pay”, adding that employees should begin applying for their severance from the Labour Department.
The letter further indicated that employees will be paid for any unused, accrued and or earned vacation and that they will be able to collect their last check and termination pay from Monday, October 19th through to Friday, October 23rd, 2020.
General Manager of the Resort, Mrs. Yvette Thomas- Henry, used the opportunity to thank those employees for their hard work and commitment over the years to the resort and to the Island of Nevis.
