3.7 quake occurs near Basseterre, St. Kitts, one day after Saturday’s quake
Over 24 hours after a 3.9 quake occurred near Basseterre, St. Kitts on Saturday May 3rd, based on information from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC), a 3.7 quake took place on Sunday May 4th.
UWI-SRC said the 3.7 magnitude quake took place at 11:14pm local time, local time occurring 319 km North-Northeast of Basseterre, at a depth 10 km.
Its coordinates were: latitude: 20.03 degrees N longitude: 61.83 degrees W. Moreover, it was recorded 324 kilometres North of Saint John’s, Antigua & Barbuda, and 362 kilometres North of Brades, Montserrat. Thus far, no one has reported feeling the quake.
Over the Labour Day weekend, the strongest known Earthquake occurred near Sunday, which was 5.6. That took place near the US and British Virgin Islands and several persons reported feeling that natural phenomenon.
