A 3.9 magnitude quake occurred near SKN on Monday Dec. 9th, information from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC) indicated.
Based on information from a post by UWI-SRC, it took place 12:47 am (local time), located at latitude: 17.69 degrees N, longitude: 61.59 degrees West, with a depth of 16 km.
It occurred 134 km, ENE of Basseterre, Saint Kitts, 70 km, NE St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda and 121 km, NE Brades, Montserrat.
There were no felt reports.
It comes about three (3) weeks after five (5) earthquakes were recorded near the Federation, in mid-November. These were above the magnitude 3.5 and took place over a 12-hour period.
