4.3 magnitude earthquake recorded near St. Kitts-Nevis
A magnitude 4.3 earthquake was recorded near St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday morning (January 16th).
According to the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC), the earthquake occurred at around 08:50 am at latitude: 18.60N and longitude: 63.24W and at a depth of 10 kilometres.
UWI-SRC said the quake was 155km NW of Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis.
The quake was also felt in neighbouring islands including Anguilla, 226km NW of St. John’s Antigua and Barbuda and 231km NW of Montserrat.
There were reports of persons feeling the quake in St. Maarten, but no reports of damage
