425 persons on Nevis vaccinated since Campaign Launch

425 persons here on Nevis have received their first dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, as at Wednesday March 3rd, according to the Nevis Island Administration (NIA).

 

Nevis’ Junior Minister of Health, the Hon. Hazel Brandy Williams, stated that all six health centres on the island, have been allocated to administer the COVID-19 vaccines to the general public.

 

Chair of Nevis’ COVID-19 Task Force, Dr. Judy Nisbett, indicated that the nurses at the health centres are coping well with the number of persons, going in to be vaccinated. At one health centre, a single nurse vaccinated 59 persons in one day.

 

During the March 3rd edition of the “On the Mark” program on VON Radio (860AM), Premier of Nevis and Local Minister of Health, the Hon. Mark Brantley, made these comments to the general public about the vaccines.
