Officers are being prepared to utilize the computer-based data collection system, that the Royal St. Christopher & Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), is introducing.
Currently, a six-week Basics in Computer Training Course is underway at the Police Training School, which began on Sep. 12th and will conclude on Oct. 25th 2019.
Eleven (11) Officers and one (1) Warden are enrolled and sessions are held twice per week, which are being facilitated by the Technical Operations Coordinator for the Force, Shirman White.
The course covers topics like: parts of the computer, different types of computers, Microsoft Office, and online security and safety. Mr. White disclosed that there are plans to implement an intermediate and advanced computer course in the future. He added that upon completion of this training, the course will be offered to civilian staff.
Recently, the Police Records Management Information System (PRMIS) was officially launched, as part of CariSECURE, which is a USAID sponsored project aimed at strengthening evidence-based decision making for citizen security in the Caribbean.
