SKN along with other OECS Countries Petitions against Florida rule; privatization of Cruise passengers Vaccine status

St. Kitts and Nevis along with other members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), has issued a letter to the US State of Florida expressing disapproval of the state’s new policy regarding cruise passengers Vaccine status.

 

According to NBC news.com, Florida Governor – Ron DeSantis signed a new legislation that bars businesses (inclusive of cruise lines) from requiring customers to show proof of Vaccinations. 

 

The legislation has been in effect since July 1st.

 

SKN’s Tourism Minister – Lindsay Grant explained that this legislation will have a significant impact on Caribbean countries re-launching their Tourism sectors to restore their economies, while at the same time control the spread and possible reintroduction of the COVID-19 Virus.
