Feature speaker for the recently held Prime Minister’s Independence Lecture, Professor and Photographer Valdon Tau Battice made a presentation surrounding his work as a photographer.
Mr. Battice specializes in portraits, with a primary interest in creating visual ethnographies of the underrepresented African diaspora. He has done photographic work in The Dominican Republic, Colombia, Chile, Brazil just to name a few and has been a part of 20 solo and group exhibitions.
His presentation elaborated on his interpretation of the theme for St. Kitts and Nevis’ 39th year of Independence “Refocus, Re-create, Redesign: Independence 39”.
He spoke about the desired design, choice of focal lengths and the creative and re-creative process he took throughout his photography work.
