CCM to launch its Candidate for Nevis #5 on Saturday
The Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) Party will launch its Candidate for Nevis #5 (St. Thomas’ Parish) for the local elections, due by March 2023 the latest.
CCM will be launching Ms. Latoya Jones as their Candidate, this Saturday November 12th. The event will be held at the Barnes Ghaut Community Center, at 7:30pm.
Many have speculated that Premier – Hon. Mark Brantley, will call the elections soon but Mr. Brantley has said on several occasions that “he has the people’s business to do.”
Although no official date for the elections has been announced, Mr. Brantley, who is also the Leader of CCM, has stated when the elections are called, “the big, blue machine will be ready”.
Ms. Jones’ opponent will be the incumbent, Nevis Reformation Party (NRP’s), Hon. Cleone Stapleton-Simmonds, who won the St. Thomas’ Parish seat over two years ago in a bi-election, following the retirement of her predecessor, Mr. Joseph Parry.
