Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Mark Brantley, will be absent from Nevis for the period April 18th to 22nd in order to attend the 26th Annual Awards Gala of the American Foundation for the University of the West Indies (AFUWI) in New York.

AFUWI 26th annual Legacy Awards Gala, slated for this Thursday Apr. 20th will this year raise a toast to six professionals who have distinguished themselves in the diverse fields of wealth management, music, political leadership, medicine, and academia. AFUWI was established in 1956 to develop an endowment fund in the United States for The University of the West Indies (UWI).

Mr. Brantley is one of six (6) persons, who will be honoured by AFUWI. He will receive the Vice Chancellor’s Award for excellence in International Government and Leadership, cavehill.uwi.edu says.

During the period that Mr. Brantley is absent, the Hon. Spencer Brand will assume the responsibilities of Premier.
