Nevis’ Ministry of Health, Gender Affairs and Social Empowerment, received a donation from the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The donation consisted of 40 adult wheelchairs, 8 children wheelchairs, 16 steel folding commodes, 28 aluminum walkers and 80 aluminum canes along with 3 dental chairs that were donated to the Dental Unit.

Minister of Health et al, Hon. Jahnel Nisbett said that the donated items would positively impact the lives of the citizens in the federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Ministry was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health et al, Ms. Shelisa Martin – Clarke. PS Martin-Clarke expressed gratitude to the Resident Ambassador of Taiwan, His Excellency Michael Lin and stated that the items would be distributed among the Alexandra Hospital, health centers, nursing homes and senior citizens in need of mobility devices on the island.
