Caricom’s 25 by 25 initiative launched in St. Kitts and Nevis
The Ministries of Agriculture in both St. Kitts and Nevis saw the official launch of Caricom’s 25 by 25 initiative on July 27th, 2023.
The 25% by 2025 initiative was introduced by the Caribbean Community in an effort to get member states to reduce their food import bull by 25% by 2025. This goal would enable local farmers to develop and increase their yield and trade as well as boosting the economic activity in the relative countries.
Federal Minister of Agriculture (St. Kitts), Hon. Samal Duggins, made these comments during the launch and encouraged all stakeholders to get involved:
