Road users on the island of Nevis are asked to take note of the temporary closure of a stretch of road on the Samuel Hunkins Drive to take place next week.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Traffic Department (Nevis Division) has announced that the section of road directly below the Octagon Restaurant will be closed to the public from Friday September 29th to Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023. This is due to the essential renovation of the bridge along the road.

There will be two alternate routes for persons wishing to travel in the Cotton Ground direction namely: East unto Chapel Street towards Ramsbury through Craddock Road connecting to the island’s main road at Pinney’s or through Crosses Alley towards Ramsbury through Craddock Road connecting to the island’s main road at Pinney’s. During the closure, Crosses Alley will be a one-way route to facilitate the flow of out bound traffic.

The department asked for the indulgence and cooperation of all road users during the closure of the road.
