LIFT application process to open by April 1st, last payment of PAP: the end of March
Minister of State with responsibility for Social Development, Isalean Phillip, announced the date for the application process of the LIFT programme, signaling an eventual end to the PAP program:
PAP (Poverty Alleviation Programme) will transition and evolve to become LIFT. Under the PAP program, established since 2018, households earning less than EC $3000 a month, receives an additional EC $500. LIFT (Livelihood Improvement for Family Transformation) programme, is a response to the need to offer opportunities to genuinely empower beneficiaries.
However, Hon. Phillip (in reference to persons already under the PAP) said it is not an assurance that those individuals will automatically receive assistance under LIFT:
