That was the voice of Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment, et. al, Senator the Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke who represented the nation at the sixteenth (16th) Meeting of the Conference of Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP16).
This convention is held every two years with the aim of fostering agreements to safeguard the environment between the nations who signed up recognizing that “economic development should not come at the expense of the environment”.
In the minister’s speech, she affirmed St. Kitts and Nevis’ commitment to the convention’s slogan: “Peace with Nature” highlighting the federation’s Sustainable Island State Agenda (S.I.S.A) by 2040.
