A national from St Kitts and Nevis is among four men who were denied bail by a magistrate in Dominica, in connection with a police operation that uncovered cocaine and marijuana with a street value of more than EC$4.9 million.

The men – Abraham Wilkes of St Kitts-Nevis, Nelly Bellot, Harrison Warrington and Kenson St Rose – were arrested on November 21^st after the Drug Squad of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) conducted an operation in Stowe, on the outskirts of the capital, Caribbean Loop news says.

According to Dominica News Online, Wilkes had been residing at Portsmouth. The men were charged with trafficking 145 kilogrammes of cocaine and 239.17 kilogrammes of marijuana with a combined street value of more than EC$4.9 million.

They appeared before the Roseau Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 25, where the charges were read to them.

The men pleaded not guilty to the charges when they appeared briefly in court on Monday and were remanded into custody until March 31, 2025, when the trial is expected to begin.
