St. Kitts and Nevis – The Very First OECS State to host the CDEMA Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM)

The 13th Caribbean Conference on Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) is currently being held in St. Kitts and Nevis.

This conference, organized by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) marks the first time ever being held in an OECS state.

 

The conference will run until December 6th under the theme: “CDM Road to Resilience: Checkpoint 2024 – Levelling Up for a Dynamic Future” has in attendance over 300 delegates across the region exploring innovative strategies for disaster management and resilience building in the Caribbean and addresses the ever – evolving challenges and opportunities in disaster risk reduction and management.

 

At the opening ceremony on December 2nd, Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. Terrance Drew made a presentation on the topic “Forging Ahead: Strategic Leadership and Innovation for a Resilient Caribbean”:
