Mighty J and Adiaha claim crowns in Junior Calypso Monarch

Meanwhile, The Greenhouse Band Junior Calypso Monarch Competition took place on Sunday, 15th December at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort Atrium, youths from both primary and secondary schools in St. Kitts and Nevis participated in the competition as part of SUGARMAS 53.

 

Prince DJ, Super Knowledge, Prince Khi, Chase the Dream, Sir Kalypso and Adiaha competed in the primary category.

 

 Here are the Placements:

 

Winner – Adiaha- 406 points for her song “different”

1st Runner Up – went to last year’s winner, the Mighty Zen – 402 points with a song entitled: “Stop de Killing”

2nd Runner Up – Super Knowledge – 373 points* for his song “don’t call me dat” and 3rd Runner Up – Prince Khi – 373 points* with his piece “A Ticket for dat”

 

A tie breaker rule was implemented to determine placements for 2nd and 3rd runners up.

 

For the Secondary segment which featured the Mighty QJ, Lega Z, Lady Faith, Dequan, Lady B and Mighty J. At the end of that segment, the Mighty J amassed a total of 432 points, securing the winner’s spot with a song titled:

“This is de Time”.

 

1st Runner Up – Lady B – 417 points for “change”, 2nd Runner Up – Star Boy Nicholas – 404 points for “what is a man”, and 3rd Runner Up – Dequon with 356 points for his song “School Children Say”.
