Roberts and Duncan sentenced to 30 and 29 years respectively

Tabari Roberts and Jelani Duncan were sentenced to jail on Thursday Dec. 19th, as the criminal assizes for the Nevis High Court continued with the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) vs Tabari Roberts and Jelani Duncan.

 

This is in connection with the homicides of teenagers Lamonte Heyliger and Jahquan Merritt on Jan. 11th, 2021 in St. Kitts. Previously, Roberts and Duncan pleaded guilty for manslaughter. This was His Lordship Justice Patrick Thompson Jr:

 

 

The Defense Attorneys for Roberts and Duncan were Hesketh Benjamin and Chesley Hamilton respectively. The Prosecution had Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions (Assistant DPP) Teshorn Vasquez.

 

In another matter, it involved indecent assault where Leroy Boon was sentenced. Boon’s Defense Attorney was Bervis Burke, while the Prosecution had Assistant DPP Vasquez and Crown Counsel Althea Campbell. These are the details.
