Police are investigating two accidents, which took place on Sunday Feb 9th. The first one occurred between 11:45AM and 12:15PM on the Island’s Main Road, at Wash Ghaut, Cayon, St. Kitts.
It involved two motor vehicles – one driven by Lexington Simon of Upper Cayon; the other driven by Clyde Berkely of New Road. Initial inquiries suggest that both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when Mr. Berkely lost control of his vehicle, swerved in Mr. Simon’s direction, and the collision occurred.
Mr. Berkely sustained serious injuries and was shortly transported to the JNF Hospital via ambulance.
Then later in the night, between 8:30PM and 9PM, in Verchilds, the second accident involved one motor vehicle driven by Shevon Richards of Sandy Point. Mr. Richards was travelling towards Old Road and lost control of the vehicle in the Verchilds area, causing it to run up onto the sidewalk on the mountain side of the road, colliding into the wall, and overturned.
Both Mr. Richards and his passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to the JNF Hospital via the ambulance.
