Sensitization of the Public on the Ban of Single Use Plastics
The St. Mary’s Biosphere Development was highlighted on the most recent “InFocus Programme” as the pilot project is currently in place to sensitize the general public on the ban of Single Use Plastics. This is the voice of Telca Wallace, National Coordinator of the Reserve:
Beginning on February 19th, communities in Canada, Keys, Cayon, Ottleys, and Canada Estate, which are in the reserve, will be part of survey that will span two weeks.

Furthermore, Ms. Wallace said that small enterprises can capitalize on the ban by introducing reusable and biodegradable products as well as selling plastic alternatives.
