“HIV and AIDS is not rampant and out of control in St. Kitts and Nevis” says Prime Minister Drew
“Can you say if there is a resurgence of HIV or AIDS taking place in the federation and if so, is there any new strategy that has to be employed to combat this or is it under control?”
That was a question posed to Prime Minister, and Federal Minister of Health, Dr. Terrance Drew, on April 2nd, 2025, during his “Roundtable” Discussion. He responded:

One of the latest HIV initiatives was a National HIV Testing Day held in late March where approximately 525 individuals were tested according to the St. Kitts Health Promotion Unit.
Additionally, the VON Newsline contacted the Ministry of Health and learned that there was an average of 18 new cases and 5 deaths each year over the past five years relating to HIV, as well as “an increase in the incidence of adolescents and young adults being diagnosed with HIV”.
