ASPIRE Literacy Day set for Wednesday May 14th 2025 in schools across SKN
Under the theme “Level Up Your Financial Future”, ASPIRE Financial Literacy Day is set for schools across the federation on Wednesday May 14th, 2025.
Brought by the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis and facilitated by the ASPIRE Task Force, the day seeks to bring about a movement that will raise the financial knowledge of students across educational institutions.
During morning assemblies from 8:30 to 9:30, professionals such as financial experts, experienced teachers, business leaders and community advocates will cover fundamental financial subjects.
Students will learn about budgeting methods, saving strategies, wise investment techniques, as well as methods to avoid usual financial errors to develop the key skill of financial literacy for their life ahead.
According to a release the observance’s purpose is to “establish a financial literacy culture that reaches outside traditional academic settings”.
The Achieving Success through Personal Investment, Resources, and Education, or ASPIRE Programme was launched in 2023 and was made to teach the nation’s youth money management principles and offer savings and investment benefits.
According to the programmes website 3,764 accounts have been opened with $3,764,000 deposited.
