AG Wilkin Represents federation at high Level Meeting to Combat Organized Crime

Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Hon. Garth Wilkin, represented the federation at the EL PAcCTO 2.0 (Europe Latin America Programme of Assistance against Transnational Organised Crime) Annual Meeting in Peru.

Held from June 16th to 19th, the high level meeting is a major cooperation programme between the European Union, Latin America, and now the Caribbean focused on combating transnational organized crime.

During a dialogue AG Wilkin underscored the need for collaborative solutions amidst the modern nature of criminal networks which “traffic not only drugs and weapons but also digital identities, illegal gold, and influence.”

Additionally, in a featured address, AG Wilkin warned that given the destabilizing impact of organized crime on small states, he stated the need for “regional interoperability” and “a transnational rule of law that respects legal sovereignty but functions through legal solidarity.”
