Police gives update on decomposed Bodies in boat drifting off the coast of Nevis

In late January 2025, authorities in the federation received reports of a boat drifting southwest of Nevis, with the remains of 19 individuals. Identification documents found with the bodies suggest they originated from Mali, West Africa.

The St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) Coast Guard Base responded and towed the vessel to the Coast Guard base in St. Kitts, where it was dry-docked to facilitate further investigations.
